Crowns and Onlays by CEREC

What is CEREC®?
CEREC® stands for CEramic REConstruction.

What does CEREC® do?
CEREC® allows you to have a crown or inlay scanned in three-dimension, fabricated in office, and inserted all in one visit. You won’t have to have multiple visits to have a tooth repaired anymore. Messy physical impressions that are uncomfortable are now replaced with a digital scan of the area that requires treatment. Every case will fit properly and every shade will match your current teeth the first time it gets back from the lab, without having to wait for hours on end.
Using this technique, the tooth is imaged using a 3D camera. Once this is uploaded to the computer a restoration can be designed to perfectly fit your tooth. The chosen design is then bonded to the tooth and will look completely natural.

Why CEREC®?
Bonati Dental uses CEREC due to superior fit, longevity, strength, wear characteristics, & post-operative sensitivity. CEREC clinical rating was excellent or good at 97% for all test groups that indicated acceptable restoration quality for ceramic fit on the tooth. For longevity, the survival of the crown or onlay was 95.5% after 9 years. Wear characteristics & post-operative sensitivity were both shown to have better success rates than dental ceramic methods.
